Update on the Circlepay app
Since launching our early access waitlist in January 2021, we’ve been humbled by the overwhelming response. To date, we have received thousands of registrations…and counting.
Many of you have reached out to us with questions about the app, including how long until we make it accessible to more users and what is our eligibility criteria.
Although we’ve made it our priority to respond to each of you individually, we thought it’d also be helpful for everyone if we address the most commonly asked questions here.

Commonly asked questions
Why isn’t the Circlepay app available for download?
Our app is in private beta, meaning we are testing the app with a limited number of users. We do this to ensure the app remains stable and reliable, before we make it available to the general public.
In the meantime, we are still accepting registrations for our early access waitlist. When we start opening up spaces for more users on our app, those on the waitlist will be given priority access over those who are not. If you have not yet registered for our waitlist, you still can through our website.
When will you start accepting more users on the app?
Our aim is that we’ll be progressively inviting more waitlisters to join the app within the next couple of months.
However, timing will ultimately depend on a number of factors, including the results of our private beta test. Needless to say, we are working hard to open the app to more users as soon as possible!
We’ll be sure to continue to keep you updated on our latest timing through this Newsletter as we progress.
Is it possible to move up the waitlist?
Yes, it is.
You can increase your chance to be invited to our app early if you:
- complete our survey; and
- refer your friends to Circlepay via your unique referral link. The more referrals you make, the further we’ll move you up the list. If you have lost your unique referral link, just drop us a note on hey@circlepay.me along with the mobile number you used to register with us and we’ll resend the link to you.
Who is eligible to use the Circlepay app?
To be eligible to use the Circlepay app, you must:
- be 18 years of age or over;
- earn a regular salary or wage (i.e weekly, fortnightly or monthly); and
- pass our affordability assessment in the app. Don’t worry, we won’t be asking you to submit a long list of documents like the banks. Our technology does all the work and runs a set of automated calculations based on your own individual cashflow — income and expenses — to ensure you can afford the cashout.
Please Note:
- At this stage we are unable to provide advances to Centrelink and other government payments.
- However, we are continually reviewing our eligibility criteria based on, among other factors, results from our private beta test and updates to Australian Government regulations.
- We will update everyone on any changes to our eligibility criteria through our Newsletter and our Facebook page.
